New Year's Eve and my bag addiction
Well, today is the last day of 2010. Wow. This year flew by really fast!
I don't really celebrate new year unless I'm back home. Ushering in the new year here in the US isy nothing extraordinary for me. I don't go out, unless I'm invited to celebrate it along with my supposedly relatives (I'm talking about my mother's feign "cousins."). I also do not appreciate pyrotechnic display--the noisy ones, as I feel like I live in a vicinity of warzone. I know, I know, I'm such a kill-joy. Live with it. I'm not doing any harm!
Tonight, I guess I'll just eat, stay in my room and probably stare at all the beautiful things I have and thank the Lord for giving all the wonderful blessings. I'm truly blessed. I get most of the things that I want, and as a matter of fact, It's embarassing to ask for more. I'm so thankful for everything!
Anyway, I mentioned in a previous blog entry that I got a new bag from Tumi. Last night however, I realised that I didn't like it. I realised that it was hideous, so today I returned it and got something else.
Presenting, my very last purchase for this year--literally my last purchase:
obviously, this is not the actual bag. i'll reveal it in due time. bwahaha
A small messenger slash "pang gimik" bag from italian brand Emporio Armani (Cristiano Ronaldo is their current endorser. Yey for football players haha). It cost ninety percent more than the Tumi bag that I purchased a few days ago, but I'm so in love with it. The quality is impeccable. I'm happy that I finally have a casual black and small bag that I can use everyday (haha, just so I can average down the cost).
If you know me, you'll notice that I have this certain fondness towards small messenger bags. I don't know how my love affair started with them, but I realised that I have around 40 more or less (probably 1/4 of them are worth mentioning) that I have accumulated over the years, and it's scary to say that I want more! Most likely, I'll stop until I can no longer afford it, or when I can get my hands on this particular classic Prada crossbody that I've been wanting to have for so long:P
I could have gotten the aforementioned bag a long time ago if I saved my allowances, but sadly, I don't really have the heart to pay for such an expensive bag (which sucks because designer labels increase their prices every year, so if I badly want the bag--which is the case--then, I really have to save my money and guts so that I can get it before the price gets really ridiculous).
I don't know if nature is playing games with me, but on my home, I saw a Japanese tourist, who was around my age, with a prada bag (photo below) hung across his body! I couldn't help but look (but hey, he looked at my Armani bag too haha).
It's not about being shallow, it's about feeling good.
Happy New Year
