Hello, Goyard:-)
I originally wanted to make a post about the things that I bought in NYC, but my camera is not cooperating. Anyway, I didn't really buy much. I'm not a shopaholic, but when I travel, I usually buy a lot of things--things that I can't find here in Honolulu. I was eager to shop in NYC. That was one of reasons why I wanted to go--to shop. But let me just say it was a blessing in disguise that my eyes did not see many things. haha. Truth be told, everything in New York is ridiculously expensive (read high sales tax). Plus, most of the things I saw are available here anyway--for less. But of course, it was impossible to leave NYC without getting myself a souvenir.
On my second day, I entered Barney's New York with one thing in mind: Goyard. Goyard is really hard to find in the US. If my knowledge serves me right, it's only available in San Francisco and New York. So imagine how excited I was to feast my eyes on something that's quite rare to find. I thought to myself, why not get myself one little thing from Goyard? After chatting with the very nice SA (who was originally from Honolulu!), I was convinced that I deserved a little treat. But of course, I had to think it over for a night because Goyard is not a joke (read: expensive!). When I got back to the hotel, I asked Jensen if it was practical to get a card case (he has one from LV). He said yes because it's very convenient, especially when going out at night.
I said okay. I'll get one. haha. But I had to wait for two days to get my hands on that little thing because we had to go to Cornell. While at Cornell, one chic student named Lindsey handed me a business card, and her card holder was a black patent leather from Chanel. I was floored. haha. I was even more convinced that it was time for me to get a card holder from a luxury brand.
That Thursday of that week, after our site inspection at the Ritz Carlton in Central Park (?), I wanted to go to Barneys and finally get that card holder. But I saw Bergdorf Goodman nearby, so I went there instead. I was surprised that they had a small Goyard section, and I singlemindedly bought this little guy:
I actually wanted this in dark blue, but the price was 30% higher. And honestly, I was not keen to pay $300+ for a card holder. Haha.
I'm very happy with this card holder from Goyard. It truly is a piece of art (it's hand painted). And I love the that it's so discreet; only those in the know what this is! Goyard as a hidden luxury, and I hope it wont be "discovered" anytime soon, like Hermes.
awesome piece..how much? how much was the navy blue one?
