NYC part deux
Our first stop was Empire State Building. The photo below shows how beautiful NYC is! I don't remember doing much here aside from taking photos and shopping at the souvenir shop.
We then headed at the World Trade Center. Then ate lunch at BLT Bar and Grill. We felt kind of underdressed because everybody were clad in business attire. haha. Food wasn't so bad, but the service was horrendous! The waiter probably thought we were kids with no money. haha
After lunch, we headed straight to staten island to visit lady liberty. My camera wasn't cooperating so I wasn't able to take a good photos:( While wandering, I stumbled upon a Filipino family visiting the place as well. I was elated when I heard them speak Visayan. I don't speak nor understand Visayan, but the thought that it was a Philippine language was so comforting:-)

The whole afternoon was free time, so the group and I gallivanted to Wall Street. While walking, I saw a La Maison Du Chocolat free standing store so I entered excitedly. I love the aforementioned chocolate brand! So there was no way I left empty handed. The very friendly French SA gave such an impeccable service! She wrapped my purchases so meticulously and explained that "La Maison Du Chocolat is the Chanel of chocolates."The group didn't really know what the chocolate luxury brand was, but they spent the most. haha. I only bought two boxes of chocolates as they are quite pricey. Quite frankly, I was only after the beautiful boxes. haha
I was eager to be back at the hotel because I wanted to go to 5th Avenue (which was really nearby!) and shop some more. Haha. I still don't understand why majority of the shops in NYC close really early! Anyway, I didn't really buy anything special for myself that day, which was disappointing. Everything that I saw were either too expensive or something that can be bought here in HNL for a lower price. I however bought my mom a bag from Bloomingdales (just because we don't have one here. hehe). A really patient sales associate helped me find the perfect bag. Sales tax in NYC kills me, but at bloomingdales, those who don't live in NYC get 10% (or I could be wrong). So yay. Before I headed back to the hotel, I made a quick stop at Zara and got myself a neck tie and a trench coat because I was freezing (and wanted to look stylish at the same time. haha)
