Damn you migraines.
I've had migraines since I was fourteen. And it attacks me seasonally (usually around Spring or Summer). It truly is a pain in the head! My world just suddenly stops. I was thankful because the last time I had it was almost two years ago. I thought it was forever gone. This season however, it came back with a vengeance. And last night, I experienced one of the worst.
I remember vividly that I slept quite early last night. . .around 11 or 12. Then by 2am, I woke up with terrible pain on the left side of my head. It was as if someone was pounding it. When migraines attack, you can't really do anything but hope for it to disappear. I did that for about three hours. Woah, that long! It was agonizing. I felt nauseated. Sobrang eawww. Haha. I couldn't really sleep na. So I stayed up until around 5am.
My little amount of sleep made me look and feel sick. I still went to work nonetheless - with an empty stomach. I just didn't feel like eating anything. But I had to digest something. So I dragged myself to a nearby Starbucks and forced myself to eat a bowl of oatmeal. Yum. It was adequate naman.
Continued to work. But felt like nauseating again. That's it, I'm going home, I murmured. I informed my colleagues about my situation. And in all fairness, they were very understanding. I even found out that one of them (hi Tammy) battles migraine too. And in a way, it was quite comforting.
Thankfully, I started feeling a little better. I slept throughout my lunch break. I felt a little rested upon waking up. Didn't eat lunch because I didn't felt like eating again. I had to eat something though, so I bought a granola bar from the vending machine.
After lunch break, I was keen on going home early (because my mind was flying somewhere). But I thought there was only a few hours more until I get to go home anyway. I called my senior that I changed my mind. She asked me if I was sure. And I replied yes.
Maybe it was a right decision to stay at work. I could have rested at home, but I think it was better to keep myself busy anyway. Sigh. Oh migraines, please go away!
