Splurge

I rarely buy expensive things (and I rarely blog about my spending musings too), especially now that I have other priorities (I'm funding my graduate education). But once in a while, I like to indulge myself - like today. When I buy certain things however, I always think carefully (kahit pa nga pagkain) before swiping my card. Yes, I can be quite over analytical.

Usually upon entering a store and my (discerning) eyes catches something appealing, I allow myself to admire it for a while. And then I let it go and sleep on it. After a few days, and it's still in my head, that means I have to go and purchase it.

The best thing about buying is when you find out that they're heavily discounted! Thanks to my wonderful associates at Barney's, I saved hundreds of of dollars!

I purchased this pair of work shoes because I badly need one. My current pairs are already decaying (a cheapy that I got at Banana Republic two years ago) due to heavy usage (trust me, I run in them.) I have searched high and low, but to no avail, there was none that interested until I saw these at Barney's New York. They are very comfortable, well made, and the price was just amazing. They give me height too. Ahihihi. One thing however that I absolutely love about them is that they have rubber soles. I just find them more practical than the leather variant as they have to be resoled after a while.

Although I could have been happy with a single purchase, I could not pass on these pair of sunglasses. I have tried them on several times before but it was just outrageously expensive. Bluntly, they were $420! Who's got money for that!? Admittedly though, it was a love at first try because they fit comfortably on my face.

I'm typically not a sunglasses person until recently. I use them while commuting because they're perfect to put on in the morning, especially when I wanna sleep on the bus, or even at work (I sleep during my breaks - I have to enumerate that).  Anyway, it was reduced to $125. I know, still a bit steep. But these are well made! I have had pairs from H&M and Zara, and I found them crashed in my pockets days after. So I thought why not invest in one. After all, my eyes are precious. Ahihihi. I have never heard of the brand L.G.R Tripoli. But really, it's not the brand, but the quality and fit that made me fall in love with them. They in fact have no logos (which I prefer).

I am aware that I previously mentioned na wala munang gastos dahil I'm saving up for a new Macbook Air. But you know what I realised? I work so damn hard. And I think I deserve to get these little things once in a while.
