Conrad Tokyo
I've always wanted to stay at the Conrad Tokyo ever since Katherine of FeatherFactor made a post about the aforementioned property. Looking at the photos she posted, I fantasized about staying there one day!
I had several hotels in mind when I spontaneously booked my ticket to Tokyo. I considered budget hotels. But if you really know me, I'm very picky when it comes to hotels. After all, I'm in the industry. Conrad is the luxury brand of Hilton Hotels. Luxury equates astronomical nightly rates. And realistically, even though I am picky, part of my me wanted to be practical. Deliberations later however made me realize why not?! So, I contacted my friend Kanako-san (who I went to TIM school with), an international sales manager for one of the Hilton properties in Tokyo about the best available rate. The rate she quoted was still much more compared to what I typically pay when I travel but I thought it was reasonable considering it came with a breakfast package! With no hesitations, I asked her to book me a 4-night stay!
The fact that I had already booked my hotel was a seal that I was really going to Tokyo. I was beyond excited!
The Friendly Limousine Bus took me to the aforementioned hotel. The fare from Narita is about $30 and it takes about an hour or so drive from the airport to the property.
The Conrad Tokyo is located above the Shiodome Tower. Registration was on level 28. And as expected, the check-in process was smooth and efficient. After the Front Desk Agent handed me over my key card, she picked up the phone a dialed a certain Mr. Deepak. Mr. Deepak was a Guest Relations Executive. He came out of the office, greeted me, and walked me to my room on level 30. In luxury hotel settings, the Guest Relations Team oversees VIP and the return guest market. And in my head, am I a VIP? Nah, far from one. Haha. I was flattered though.

Conrad Tokyo in my opinion has spacious rooms for Japanese standards. The room that I got was overlooking the Tokyo Bay (it's a category higher compared to a city view). And what I can I say? I was beyond impressed! I had no words to say. I loved everything about it! Plus, I was given teddy bear keychains after turn down service and a rubber ducky for me to take home. Very Kawaii. Very Japanese. :D
My overall stay at the Conrad was nothing but wonderful. It's now one of my favorite hotels in the world. The staff that I met were so accommodating and welcoming. They were attentive to detail without going overboard and they definitely anticipated my needs! The Front Office team, the Concierge team (who has a Les Clef D'or member - if you're a traveller, you know who they are!) and of course, the Guest Relations Team (Mr. Deepak and Mr. Ari), thank you for making my stay a memorable one! I will definitely stay again here for my future visits to Tokyo!

| This is very minor but one thing I dislike about Conrad was the bed. I found it not comfortable. I guess I'm just used to Westin's signature heavenly bed? :D |
As I've mentioned earlier, the reservation came with a breakfast package. And it really saved me from looking for other dining outlets especially in the morning. The buffet was set up in Cerise. This restaurant was so charming. And the selection was really impressive too. My goal was to eat as much as I could that way I wouldn't have to eat a lot for lunch :D

Hi Philip, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! This is the best Conrad in the world in my opinion. And I still love my teddy bears to this day :)
