Exploring Tokyo - Part Une

To be honest, I didn't have any itinerary upon landing in Tokyo. I of course wanted to see a few places. But pretty much, off I went wherever my feet led me.

My hotel, the Conrad, was conveniently steps away from Ginza - a mecca of high-end retail stores. In my opinion, if your presence is not there, you don't matter. Harsh. But true. Haha. The Japanese are the most discerning consumers in the world! Anyway, my intention was not to shop. I was simply there to explore.
People in Tokyo walk, walk, walk! I like going to places where walking is the norm - unlike in Hawaii where I feel like it's so sacrilege to walk.  Haha. Personall I love to walk. It's my form of cardio on a daily basis and I find it fun. Whenever I travel, It really was just me and my google map. I kid you not when I say I walked from Shibuya to Omotesando :D
Department store culture is very different in Japan. People take pride in providing the best to customers. And maybe that's the reason why they open late - like 10:30 or 11 in the morning unlike in the States where they open as early as 9 am whether it's ready or not (you'll still see clerks merchandising).
The Japanese must have a sweet tooth because all basement level of each department store offers a plethora of pastries and other epicurean goodies. The selection can be overwhelming! But definitely a heaven all things kawaii, food wise. I tried to restrain myself for healthy reasons though. Haha.
