San Francisco Day 1

So I arrived at around 5 am at the SFO. I took Uber from the airport to the hotel and it was so nice that the driver was Filipino Anyway, I checked in at The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Hmmm :)

I was expecting that there'd be no room available since it was ridiculously early. Check-in normally begins at 3pm anyway. But luckily, there was one that was ready! I booked myself a "superior room" and it's more than enough for me that I didn't ask for an upgrade. Haha. Here's my room:
It looks so cozy doesn't it? Luxury Collection beds are seriously the best. I wish I had one! They can be ordered by the way.
Tivoli alarm clock! You could tell a hotel is truly refined if you see these small touches :D
Bathroom is is a little bit small. And I'm disappointed that it's not equipped with a toto toilet (hey, the owners are Japanese). But do I even have the right to complain?

Here's the study area which I intend to use a lot as it's where I'll be blogging :D The Front Desk Agent was nice enough to waive the internet charges so yay for that. Otherwise, it would be a $15  daily. Ouch.

Because it was still really early in the morning, like at around 5ish?, I decided to rest for a bit. I got up at around 9am and explored the neigborhood. This greeted me: hello autumn!

I called this day "my no-itinerary day" because really, I didn't have any plans at all. It was Thanksgiving day so everything was pretty much closed anyway. I however met up with Vanessa, a friend of mine that I met in AFAP. She flew from New Jersey. Finally, we saw each other again after 5 years! We attempted to meet last January in NYC but due to the storm, it didn't happen :( Anyway, it was so nice catching up with her. And it was so nice of her to take uber all the way from SFO to my hotel in Downtown considering she was supposed to head straight in Daly City. So we just caught up, walked a lot, and ate lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Chinatown. I had a few hours to spend time with her and it was just so nice to reminisce the good old days! I accompanied her to Powell Street Station after (which was literally outside of my hotel), took the Bart, and off she went to Daly City where she would be spending her Thanksgiving with her family.
I on the other hand was supposed to go to Fremont to see ate Michi. However along the way, I got lost along the way so I decided to go back to Union Square and just get to know the area.
After a couple of hours of killing time, I headed back to my hotel to have some rest. On the way there, I discovered Maided Lane. Ahh, such a charming alley of high-end stores.
I later learned from the concierge that Macy's would be opening at around 10pm. Because I really didn't have the plans, I decided to go despite not being a Macy's shopper. Haha. I didn't buy anything at all because Macy's is Macy's. We have it back in Honolulu. So left empty handed and headed to my hotel to do some pondering. Deep!
My first day in San Francisco was nothing but wonderful. It feel so blessed that I spent Thanksgiving here :)
