San Francisco Day 4
Last Day in this beautiful city! Ahh, I had the break I needed. I'm so thankful I got to spend my Thanksgiving break here.
Anyway, there's really nothing much to blog about. I pretty much just "chilled" until I had to check out from my hotel. Although I did walk two blocks really early in the morning to go the the St. Regis to have some power breakfast. You know, I could have chosen to eat at The Palace conveniently, but I found their offerings to be overpriced. Just saying. Plus, I have a thing with St. Regis Hotels. Haha
I made a reservation last night for a 7 a.m. breakfast and the manager on duty was able to accommodate it despite not being a guest. When I got to the property, it was peacefully empty which I loved as I got to peruse without the prying eyes of other guests or staff. Haha. No complaints about the staff though as they really deliver 5-star service (as one should expect!).
This is what I had for breakfast: Fritatta with truffles. It was okay, but would it be so sacrilege if I say that I enjoyed the wheat bread with a variety of spreads more? Haha. The waitress was one of the nicest person I've met. I'm so said I can't recall her name :(
After breakfast, I walked back to my hotel to make sure everything was packed. It was so hard for me to leave the room as it was so cozy! It wasn't a suite or anything but I loved everything about it. . .except the bathroom. Haha. I thought it was a little small, but hey do I even have the right to complain?
I got to SFO in no time! Seriously, we need the Bart in Hawaii! Well, the city is in the process of building one but there's just so much controversy. I don't understand why! Anyway, SFO is beautiful. I like it more than NRT (but I must say, I like HKG the best :D). Again, I can't help but compare it to HNL which is stuck in the 70s. Haha.
I had plenty of time to kill whilst at SFO. I could have gone to the Centurion Lounge or United Lounge but I decided to just wander. Terminal 3 is UA's hub so it was blue, blue, blue!
Flew business, but I wish I was able to try their new offering: Polaris! This is to be launched in December! Ahh, whoever is their marketing head, props to him/her because I'm totally engrossed! Next time I fly on a long haul flight, I may just consider it! Until then, can't wait!

One Last look at the Palace! This hotel was really charming. Everyone I encountered was nice and hospitable. I am big on service because I'm in this business! More than anything, at the end of the day, the fact that you were treated right no matter who or where you're from is all that matters. I want to sincerely thank the concierge team whom I bothered many, many times. They truly are the keys to the city! And a little note: I believe 90% of them are members of the prestigious Les Clef's D'or. If you're discerning traveler, you know who they are!
Per the concierge's advice, I took the Bart to SFO because why not? I could have chosen to take uber but since I still had enough on my Clipper, so it was perfect! Can I just say I enjoy taking public transportation when traveling? I find that they're more economical rather than taking the cab (I no longer take cabs). Plus, they're very reliable. I wish our public transportation in Hawaii is as reliable or as advanced. But we are decades behind. SighI got to SFO in no time! Seriously, we need the Bart in Hawaii! I boarded the plane at around 1pm and it departed at around 1:15. The flight from SFO to HNL is less than 5 hours which makes it very convenient for my mom to visit should I decide to move here in the future (hey, it's closer than New York). I slept throughout the whole duration of the flight because I wanted to be well rested upon landing. I managed to watch one film though (I rewatched Batman & Superman because I couldn't get enough of it). I must say, United's IFE is pretty impressive.
