Refined Taste or Just Getting Old?
Pardon my lack of posts. My internet connection is really fucked up (pardon the inappropriate choice of a word too!). I'm currently using my hotspot, and it's really slow as a turtle (again, not the best analogy. Gosh, I'm not very coherent today. haha. It may be due to the fact that it's on a very early Sunday morning ... and my back really hurts. Time for a massage!).
Anyway, I have been going to the mall a lot lately to wander around. It's the new year, and I pretty much threw away or donated half of the things I own. I've been meaning to replace them, especially in the clothing department because even though I own very few now ... and they're of nice quality (Thom Browne, Brooks Brothers, Turnbull and Asser, and Ralph Lauren, are predominantly in my wardrobe - all of which I got on sale by the way.) I still want a few more! Here's the thing: nothing excites me.
Ever since I was young, I had always appreciated beautiful things. If I really wanted something expensive, I'd save up for it. Or if I could afford it at the moment, I'd buy it. But now, nothing excites me even though they're beautiful - expensive or reasonably priced. I guess the factor that I'm really looking for is that I have to fall in love with the item! And it's been extremely rare as of late.
The last thing I purchased was a book. It was $11 on Amazon, and I'm looking forward to receiving it! My happiness is very simple. Haha. Clothing wise, I did order a really nice Ralph Lauren Black Label shirt from Barney's that I got on clearance for $50 (versus its original price of $295?) and I'm anticipating its arrival next week as well!
Ahh, I want more! But despite the sea of options out there, I'm just really picky nowadays. Perhaps it has to do with a much more refined taste? Major LOL. Or the fact that I'm just aging hence the state of being much, much more discerningly selective.
