Rainy Evening in Hawai'i nei

It was a rainy Aloha Friday night. We were soaking wet. We entered a restaurant for solace. And upon entering, we immediately felt as if we were transported out of Honolulu. The restaurant was Stripsteak. It was regal. We thought we didn't belong. We but that changed when we were greeted with friendly smiles. So long story short, we dine there to usher in Jonathan's birthday!

Not a restaurant review (because there's plenty out there), but the said restaurant is one of the best I've been to. It's fine dining, but not pretentious. Because it's located in a tourist area, people wee clad in t-shirts and shorts (on a side note, you can't be stingy as prices are not average haha.). Most importantly though, the service was superb. Everybody was just genuinely nice - which I always appreciate. The food however, was okay. I ordered scallops and I thought it was a bit too salty. But I would definitely go back. Our overall experience, however, was really good!

After our last bite of the dessert we ordered, we headed to the parking lot. On the way there, there's a small boutique that carried well-curated merchandise from Europe. I have been there before but I've always bought something small, like candles and a lip balm from Santa Maria Novella (haha. I know!). I wasn't planning on getting anything that night. But I saw a pair of APC derbies. And for some reason, I wanted to try them on. I tried it on, and it was so comfortable (no matter how cheap or nice-looking a shoe may be, I no longer but it if it's not comfortable. I learned my lesson!). I ultimately bought it because, why not? My one and the only pair from Tods purchased four years ago is about to retire so I guess it was the perfect timing. I feel a little guilty though because I really didn't want to spend on something "big." But what's the point now?

PS,
At least once a week, it's okay to indulge yourself with the finer things in life. You deserve it, with all the crappy things that's going on. :D
