Mahalo, Salamat, Merci, Arigatou, Thanks!
Currently on the northern side of the Philippines, aka Ilocos Norte; and I'm astounded by the fact that this province has progressed so much compared to the last time I was here! I'm like, wow!
It may not be as advanced, let's say like Metro Manila, but I love how people live here so simply yet comfortably. Honestly, I was half hearted about coming here but I'm very happy to say I'm glad to be here! I vow to come here sooner than later...hopefuly next winter, again :)
On a different note, it just dawned on me that it's my birthday tomorrow. It's so appropriate that I'm celebrating it here in the Philippines. I may have relinquished my Philippine passport, but I'll forever be grateful that I was born and raised here (despite my animosities with the government which I have no business of, to begin with). Anyway, I don't feel older. I feel like I'm more grown up though, and I know myself more now. I'm just simply grateful.
As everyone may already know by now, I've resigned from my corporate job to focus on my academic goals - to hopefully complete a Masters degree. As I'm about to enter a new chapter of my life, I'm not going to deny that my head is not full of uncertainties. I'm scared because I just left a stable job which is my source of income - which I need to preserve a certain lifestyle that I enjoy. But I won't forgive myself if I don't at least try this new pursuit. Scared 30%; but excited at the same time.
Cheers to the new life that I've been craving. I know it will not be easy. It will be challenging as a matter of fact. But I hope this will lead to the best version of myself.
