Productive Friday
Met up with a classmate at Dean and Deluca to discuss our upcoming project. We actually ended up talking about other things more than the project actually (we helped each other generate ideas though, so that's a good thing!), but it was so fun getting to know her and her background. This classmate of mine is from Massachusetts. I told her that I'm obsessed about New England fall. Haha. Moving forward, like me, she resigned from her job to pursue graduate school full time. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. We have a lot of things in common, actually. I'm glad we'll be taking more classes together next semester.
On a side note, I have been going to Dean and Deluca a lot lately. Unlike other cafes out there (ehem, Startbucks!), what I love about Dean and Deluca is that it's relatively quiet and it's usually empty (aside from a handful of refined Japanese tourists). Additionally, they play unobtrusive music (think Bach). Currently, they offer festive Halloween themed pastries. Ahh, cuteness overload!
After our meeting, I headed to Uni to meet up with a friend. But lo and behold, she was nowhere to be found. A little annoyed because she didn't even have the courtesy to text me. I left after doing some readings at the library and took the Uber to a salon because I had a haircut appointment. It was long overdue. I hate it when my hair gets long. Ideally, I'd have it cut every three weeks but that would be expensive! I spend about $50+ for my hair on a monthly basis. And I consider it a luxury. I however don't feel guilty for it. I used to go to a cheap barber shop, but ever since I experienced hair cut precision, it's hard to go back. I have a Japanese stylist, and she has gotten to know my hair really well. I'm elated with my new hair cut, as always. I feel so mabango and fresh. Haha
